
BIOGRAPHY
Originally from West Hills California, Nicholas started playing clarinet at the age of 12. He is currently a Senior at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has been the principal clarinetist of the UCLA Philharmonia and Colburn Youth Orchestra.
He has taken 1st prizes in many esteemed global competitions: Lamont Young Artist National Competition, Golden Classical Music Awards, Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition, and Great Composers Young Artist Competition. In 2020 and 2021, he was chosen as a winner of the National YoungArts Foundation. Nicholas made his Carnegie Hall debut in December of 2021. In January 2022, he was chosen as a winner of the UCLA All Star concerto competition and performed with the UCLA Philharmonia.
From November 2022, he has been playing in the Los Angeles Philharmonic as a substitute clarinetist performing under esteemed conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. In August 2023, he was chosen as a finalist candidate for the Principal Clarinet of Pacific Symphony as an undergraduate. He currently studies with the Principal Clarinetist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Boris Allakhverdyan.
